Namibia Lechwe
A Namibia Lechwe has black lines on the front of the legs . it is larger than the impala and its hindquarters are much higher than its shoulders giving a “walking down hill” appearance. The Lechwe are commonly found near water.
The lechwe breed in arenas or leks . The males rut for a position in the lek and the most dominant males get the central positions where they do most of the mating.
A female in estrus enters the lek where she may mate with one of the central males. The best viewing spots for this animals are along the Chobe and Linyanti river systems in the Caprivi.
