Namibia Leopard

Namibia Leopard differ from cheetah by its stockier and more powerful appearance, bigger head and muscular body. The expression in their eyes is baleful and catlike whereas the cheetah’s eyes seem gentler.

They are solitary but can be seen in pairs when mating or in small groups consisting of a mother and her offsprings.

A short chase is essential for the leopard as it can only outrun its prey over a short distance.

The tribes in the eastern Caprivi believe good fortune will follow the sighting of a leopard.

Uncommonly seen due to their secretive, nocturnal habits. Can be seen in any wilderness area, usually early morning or late evening. Tsaobis Leopard Nature Park, Etosha, Khaudom.
