Namibia Reedbuck
The Namibia Reedbuck can be identified by the yellowish-grey colouring, the white show of the under tail and short diverging horns with dark brown lines on the front of their legs. They live in small groups of up to six and are often seen alone or in pairs. They are usually found along long grass near water and are often found in areas that are under utilised by other game. The males chase any intruding males from his territory.
The Reedbuck depends on thick shelter for protection as they are easily run down in the open by predators, including domestic dogs. They mate for life and although monogamous have a loose relationship in which they can separate for long periods. The best viewing spots for the Reedbuck are in the open grassland along the Chobe and Linyanti river system.
