Namibia Religion
While Namibia is a secular state in terms of the Constitution, freedom of rweligion was adopted through Namibia's Bill of Fundamental Rights. About 90% of the population is Christian.
There are two Lutheran denominations. The Evangelical Lutheran Church and the German speaking Evangelical Lutheran Church (DELK). Other major denominations represented are Catholic and Anglican and there are several reformed groupings and independent African churches.
Many traditional African convictions have permeated the Christian denominations.
In 1995 Namibia's firs mosque opened in Windhoek. The Muslim community is small but it is slowly growing.
