Namibia time

Namibia time falls in the GMT+2 time zone. The country switches to a different time zone during winter months: winter time is set at GMT+1 and runs from the first Sunday in April to the last Saturday in August.

Business hours in Namibia are from 08:00-17:00 from Mondays to Fridays, while banks are open for business from 9:00-15:30 on weekdays and from 8:30-12:00 on Saturdays.

Socially, being on time may mean arriving ten minutes after the party has started. That way you will not be the only couple sitting, waiting for 50 more couples to arrive!

Some people opt for a pre-party before the main event. Nowadays invitations ussually reads: "Arrive 18:30 for 19:00" to make people arrive on time!

Such rules do not apply to official or business settings. If it is suppose to be at 8:00, arrive at 7:55 or risk creating a wrong impression.
