Namibia transport offers unlimited choices. A scheduled bus service is available to and from Hosea Kutako (Windhoek) International Airport and the capital.
Public transport is not available to all destinations in Namibia. There are privately operated bus services from Windhoek - Cape Town/Johannesburg/Vic Falls/Swakopmund.
The main railway line runs from the South African border, connecting Windhoek to Swakopmund in the west and Tsumeb in the north. In the far north, a newly built track connects Tsumeb and Oshikango.

There is an extensive network of international and regional flights from/to Windhoek.
If you are brave enough (I recommend that you should at least be two), the cheapest means of transport is the taxis to move around Windhoek. The fair is only N$ 7.50 (around USD 0.75) per trip.

These are fairly clean and safe and are found around every corner. One should avoid using ordinary taxis after sunset. You will find trustworthy taxi drivers but better be safe than sorry.
There are also local minibuses that travel to major towns in the country on daily basis if you do not mind being the centre of attention. As long as you are not flashing valuables around.
Meter taxis are safer to move around the city, although the charges are calculated per distance and are pricier. The station for these taxis is opposite to Kalahari Sands Hotel.
Most people opt to hire a car. There are many car hire companies.
